Frequently Asked Questions
-
Why should I use a travel valet tray?
A travel tray serves as a dedicated anchor point in an unfamiliar hotel room or stateroom. It eliminates the friction of travel by keeping small, essential items—such as hotel keycards, watch keys, signet rings, cufflinks, and passports—consolidated in one high-visibility spot, preventing misplaced items during your stay and speeding up departure checkouts.
-
How does a travel tray protect my personal belongings?
Most hotel surfaces consist of hard materials like granite, marble, or polished wood. Placing delicate goods directly on these surfaces risks scratches or scuffs. A fine leather or fabric travel tray provides a soft, non-abrasive barrier that protects delicate watches, fine jewelry, and polished leather card cases from damage.
-
What features make a valet tray travel-friendly?
A good travel valet tray is designed to lay completely flat in your luggage, taking up minimal space and weight. When you arrive at your destination, corner snaps, buttons, or zippers allow you to assemble it into a structured, catch-all dish within seconds.
-
How does using a travel tray enhance the travel experience?
Beyond pure organization, unpacking a travel tray creates a grounding, personal ritual. Snapping the tray into place restores visual order to chaotic countertops and bedside tables, transforming a temporary, rented space into a calm, familiar, and curated personal sanctuary.
-
What leather is used, and will it patina over time?
All of our leathers are genuine, aniline-dyed leather. Our Togo calfskin comes from Alpine-raised cattle, tanned in Germany, while our Dumont, Montecristo, and Americana leathers are bull hide, tanned in Italy. The Dumont, Montecristo, and Americanas will patina over time. The Togo leathers will retain their original qualities, with relatively little evidence of aging.
-
Is suede real leather?
Yes. Suede is simply leather that has been finished to have a napped surface. Our lamb velour is a high-quality leather where the skin is sanded to create a soft, velvet-like feel. It retains all the natural properties of leather, including breathability and flexibility.
